The Legacy Index

Everything your family needs to know — and everything they'd never want to lose — in one place.

The Legacy Index is the family readiness platform. Families come to preserve what they love, and stay to protect what matters.

Currently in early beta, with active families using the platform today to build and share their legacy.

Our Story

The Legacy Index was founded by Avery Drake and his mother, Dr. Lei-Ann Bridges — a licensed therapist with a Ph.D. in the psychology of intergenerational trauma, grief, and family healing.

Her life's work is helping families carry what gets passed down across generations — the pain, but also the love, the stories, and the strength. The Legacy Index is the product version of that work: built by a son and his mother, for families like theirs.

We didn't build this from the outside looking in. We built it because we needed it.

Why The Legacy Index Exists

Families pass down more than assets — they pass down stories, values, relationships, and identity. Yet today, most of that is scattered across devices, forgotten over time, or lost entirely.

Existing tools don't solve this problem:

  • Social platforms prioritize visibility, not legacy
  • Cloud storage organizes files, not meaning
  • Estate planning tools focus on legal assets, not personal context

The Legacy Index bridges that gap — giving families a single, warm place to preserve and pass down what truly matters.

What The Legacy Index Does

It starts with the memories you never want to lose — and grows into a place your family can rely on.

Preserve — always free

  • Stories, photos, videos, and recorded voices
  • Recipes and family traditions
  • Your family tree and private family network
  • Legacy profiles for loved ones and ancestors

Readiness — for families who want more

  • A secure vault for sensitive documents
  • A guided readiness checklist
  • Access controls for who sees what, and when
  • Future messages, delivered when the time is right

Everything is designed to be simple, private, and meaningful.

Designed for Legacy — Not Attention

The Legacy Index is not a social network.

There are no

  • Public feeds
  • Algorithms
  • Pressure to perform

Families control

  • Who is invited
  • What is shared
  • How their legacy is preserved and delivered

A place for what lasts — not what trends.

Why This Lasts

The Legacy Index is a compounding asset. Most family tools create value once. We create it again and again from the same memories.

A story preserved today serves the person who saved it now — and serves descendants who don't yet exist, decades from now, without ever diminishing its value to the first family member who shared it.

Our foundation is time. Every year of accumulated family history is a year that can't be replicated. And unlike a social feed, a family's archive grows more precious as it ages — a grandmother's recorded voice becomes irreplaceable once it's the only one that remains.

Our Commitments

The principles we hold ourselves to.

What families entrust to us is irreplaceable. These aren't promises of perfection — they're the principles The Legacy Index is built around, and the commitments we hold ourselves to every day.

Your data is yours, always

Everything your family uploads is yours to download and export, always. A family's inheritance is never locked behind a paywall.

AI is optional

AI features are optional and off by default. Your family chooses if and when to use them — never the other way around.

Security-first for sensitive content

Sensitive documents — wills, records, and the things that matter most — are handled with security as the priority, not an afterthought.

Your voice, your likeness, yours

Your family's memories, voices, and likenesses belong to you. We will never sell them or allow them to be misused.

Who It's For

  • Families who want to preserve their history intentionally
  • Parents and grandparents who want to pass down more than files
  • Individuals planning long-term digital and personal legacy
  • Families who value privacy, meaning, and connection
